Helen is one of the best models currently working in Richmond, so I was super stoked to finally get to shoot with her this past month. She had caught my eye on Instagram a few years back doing bridal work of all things and I instantly knew she had that look and attitude I seek out in my work. So naturally I asked if she wanted to work together. It took a couple years, but hey, it happened.
Flash forward to last month and we finally agreed on a time and place. My buddy Rem offered use of his apartment for the shoot so I eagerly agreed to that. I had come up with the "concept" of doing a set with denim overalls with Helen and she happily obliged. I made use of Rem's gorgeous bedroom and ample natural light through his massive windows while she killed it in those overalls. For another look, we headed up to his loft area at the peak of his roof. We started shooting and began to realize the sunlight was starting to run low. I noticed he had some light strips on the wall so we turned them on and thank god we did. Those neon lights gave us a cold, but soft backlight that was made even more exceptional with Helen's styling that featured a sheer long sleeve blouse. Helen rocked the cramped space we had with her crafty posing and emotive expressions resulting in us getting a killer set out of it.
She rocks, so you should check out the rest of her portfolio here.
